Motivating Employees

There is no question that when you have happy employees who enjoy coming to work, you have motivated employees.  The best way to achieve this is through providing a positive work environment.  I have encountered companies who do all kinds of things to make work a pleasure for their employees. 

Some companies provide on site fitness centers.  This serves so many purposes.  Not only is this convenient, but also provides a means for your employees to reduce stress.  It also opens the door to keeping your staff in shape, which in turn should benefit your health insurance costs.

Still other companies provide on site child care.  To relieve the stress of a working parent by having their child near by is a huge advantage.  Parents will be more focused on their work when they have the comfort of knowing their child is right there and well taken care of.

And, both of my son in laws actually work for companies that have a game room where they have a Wii console for the employees to use at anytime during the day.  They say it is a great stress reducer and is not abused in anyway.

To enjoy what you do, and look forward to going to work has proven to be more valuable than offering raises and other financial benefits.  In light of the fact that we spend so much of our time at work, to have it be an enjoyable place is truly the greatest motivator.
