Ten Minutes!

I hate being at the mercy of power.  When the power goes out... I freak out that all my ice cream is going to melt.  Yes... without question... this is my main concern.  Everything else I can live without.

I prefer reading books to television.  Everyone has cell phones which are unaffected by a power outage.  Even if you have to charge your phone... there are portable power chargers.  Just like my daughters calculator for school which is solar powered... they have now an iPhone Solar Charger!  It's crazy the technology we have!  I go to bed when it's dark.  I wake up when the sun comes up.  I don't blow dry or curl or straighten my hair.  You can heat water with solar energy.  Truly... my use for power is to keep my ice cream deliciously cold.

At times though... the power is only out for a brief period of time... but who knows whether this is the time it will only be out a few minutes... or is this the time that it will be out for a day?  The risk is far to great... so I find myself eating all the ice cream approximately 10 minutes from when the power goes out.  Yes this is the amount of strain I can handle at the thought of losing all my ice cream... ten minutes!  I can go days waiting for a cancer diagnosis... but melt my ice cream?  Ten minutes!

This is a sponsored post for Goal Zero, however, all the points and views are my own.
