Aaaah... Spring!

We are snowed in today.  It started snowing yesterday around 4 o'clock and didn't stop until sometime early this morning.  We live in Utah, so obviously we are used to the snow, but this time we really got slammed.  In fact, the schools are closed.  They are taking a "Snow Day" and I can't remember the last time we did.  It is maybe 8 degrees, and although I love being all snuggled up inside, you can't help but dream of spring.

Sure everyone loves the snow when the holidays are here.  We all wish for a white Christmas, but who wants a white January, February, and March?  But I say that without the long harsh, snow packed winter, I don't think we would all truly appreciate Spring.

Would the warmth of the sun, or the blossoming flower bulbs (planted last fall) really be all that special if we had them year round?  I think not.  I love the diversity of being all bundled up under a down quilt with a book and a cup of hot chocolate in the winter... to the blanket in the grass under a shade tree with a book, and ice cream cone in the summer.  A long hot steaming shower in the winter... to the cold rush of jumping the waves in the ocean in the summer.

Diversity is what makes life so wonderful.
